The Assessment Process

Step 1

Initial Consultation

Our expert clinicians will take a detailed medical and injury history, followed by a clinical examination to determine your strength and joint flexibility.

Step 2

Footscan Analysis

You will then complete a footscan® assessment to analyse your standing posture, balance and gait to identify any asymmetries or abnormalities.

Step 3

Phits Insole Design

The clinician will talk through your footscan® analysis and suggest the most suitable treatment pathway. This might include the design of Phits orthotics.

Step 4

3D Print Manufacturing

If prescribed, your Phits orthotics will be 3D printed to meet your exact specifications by using the dynamic data from your footscan® assessment.

Step 5

Enjoy Your Next Steps

After a quality check, you will return to the clinic in a couple of weeks to fit your new orthotics, providing your body with the perfect balance with every step.

Norfolk Gait Anaylsis Lab

A newly enhanced service at Claire Dallas Podiatry in partnership with Gait and Motion Clinics (GMC), the UK's largest network of private healthcare practices, offering the latest footscan® technology and Phits 3D printed orthotics.

Leading the way in innovative gait and movement analysis to reduce injury risk, aid rehabilitation and improve performance.

Why Phits Orthotics?

Orthotic Innovation

The award winning Phits orthotics are the worlds first 3D printed orthotics which are specifically designed based on your dynamic gait analysis using footscan®.

Optimal Accuracy

Phits are accurate to the nearest 0.1mm with no room for error in the manufacturing process, providing tailored support and cushioning where you need it most.

Lightweight and Robust

Phits are less than half the weight of traditional orthotics whilst offering extreme durability and comfort, whether you are walking, running or playing sport.

Footwear Specific

Regardless of your age or activity level, we have specific designs to cater for your footwear; such as walking, running, football, golf, cycling, skiing and workwear.

The Choice of Champions

Want to be treated like a Champion? Phits are trusted by many British and World Champion athletes to keep them moving pain free and to reduce their injury risk.

More Information

The combination of Footscan® software and hardware is without equal in today’s field of dynamic pressure measurements. No other system combines a sensor density of 4 sensors per square cm with measuring speeds of up to 500Hz.

The Footscan system takes precise plantar pressure measurements, which allows accurate foot movement analysis during walking or running.

The high speed measurement and high sensor resolution offers a detailed view on the pressure distribution and foot movement. The movement can be played frame by frame, allowing us to bring into view even the smallest of abnormalities during roll off, and/or asymmetrical movements.

Footscan® takes plantar pressure measurements at a rate of 300Hz using over 4000 sensors and this high scan rate means we can capture full pressure details. Fast changes in pressures cannot be recorded at lower scanning rates, meaning our system is able to provide much more detailed and accurate data.

The software used with Footscan® offers a platform for carrying out static and dynamic analyses, showing 3D visualisations, generating force and loading graphs and comparing between different measurements of the same or different patients.

Podosmart

In addition to the Footscan® technology, PODOSmart in shoe gait analysis may also be offered, using the latest Bluetooth connected insoles to accurately measure your walking or running profile in real time and space.

These can quantify the movement of the body with different mobility disorders such as neurological, orthopaedic, age related or sporting injuries

The insoles are inserted into your shoes and you are asked to run or walk for at least 2 minutes. The data from the insoles is analysed via Bluetooth technology, the complex algorithms are translated into clinical data that can be used to measure any abnormalities in the body when walking or running.

By capturing data on both feet at every step, either at the clinic or outside, the insoles provide a detailed view of the moving body. This compliments the clinical examination and Footscan data, and the resulting personalised treatment and exercise plan.
